# Clean Energy Demonstration Transparency Act of 2023

This bill requires the federal government to be more transparent about how it's spending money on clean energy projects. Specifically, it makes the Department of Energy report regularly to Congress about demonstration projects—these are experimental or pilot programs testing new clean energy technologies like solar panels, wind turbines, battery storage, or other innovative energy solutions. Instead of just reporting once in a while, the department now has to submit detailed reports at least twice a year, starting within six months of the law passing.

What information has to be reported? The department must include copies of the initial contracts and funding agreements with companies or organizations receiving money, list whether projects are meeting their important milestones (like completing construction on time or hitting performance targets), and explain any significant changes to the projects—such as cost increases, delays, changes in partners, or modifications to what the project is supposed to do. If a project is falling behind schedule, going over budget, or changing its goals, Congress will know about it sooner rather than later.
