Currently, Medicare only covers telehealth services for a limited time period (151 days) in certain situations. This bill makes that temporary permission permanent by removing the time limit. Essentially, it's saying that once telehealth services are approved for Medicare coverage, they stay approved indefinitely rather than expiring after a set number of days. The bill also expands which types of locations can serve as "originating sites"—the places where patients are physically located when they receive virtual care—giving patients more flexibility about where they can be when they connect with their doctor.
