This bill makes it easier for the U.S. government to sell military equipment and weapons to Middle Eastern and North African countries that have made peace agreements with Israel and are working together on regional security. The main goal is to help these allied countries defend themselves against threats from Iran and groups aligned with Iran, like Hezbollah and the Houthis.

Right now, when the U.S. sells weapons to other countries, Congress has to wait a certain amount of time before approving the sale. This bill speeds up that process for countries that meet two conditions: they've normalized relations with Israel, and they're actively cooperating with other countries in the region to counter Iranian threats. Instead of waiting the normal amount of time, the President only has to notify Congress 15 days before approving a weapons sale to these countries.

However, the bill includes important safeguards. The President must explain to Congress why each weapons sale helps achieve the goal of countering Iran, and must describe what steps the U.S. is taking to make sure sensitive American technology doesn't end up in the hands of China or Russia. Additionally, the State Department has to report to Congress every 60 days about how this policy is working, including details about pending weapons sales over $25 million, delivery timelines, and ways to improve the process.
