# National Fire Academy Reporting Act

This bill requires the National Fire Academy to submit detailed annual reports to Congress about its training activities. Starting next year, by November 30th each year, the Academy must provide information about the courses and programs it offered during the previous fiscal year, giving Congress better visibility into how this federal fire training institution operates.

The reports will track several key pieces of information. Congress will see how many fire departments sent personnel to Academy courses, broken down by which specific departments and which states they're from. The reports will also show how many individual firefighters attended—and importantly, whether they were career firefighters (paid full-time) or volunteers. Additionally, Congress will learn how many total courses and programs the Academy offered, and how many it had to cancel for any reason.

The bill also requires the Academy to report on funding it distributes to fire service training programs. This includes money given to state-level fire training programs and local fire training programs, as well as funds awarded directly to students attending Academy courses. Essentially, Congress wants a clear picture of where Academy money is going and what training activities are actually happening.
