This bill aims to protect K-12 students from sexual abuse by requiring states to establish stronger policies and training programs in schools. Additionally, the Department of Education has to study how often sexual abuse happens in schools—both by other students and by staff—and report back to Congress within a year with recommendations on how to prevent it. Essentially, this bill is trying to create a more consistent, nationwide approach to protecting students by making sure every school has clear rules, trained staff, and awareness programs in place.
