It only applies to platforms where the main purpose is sharing user-generated content like posts, videos, and comments, and where the company makes money primarily through advertising or selling user data. This means it wouldn't apply to educational apps, video games, email services, text messaging apps, online shopping sites, or video conferencing tools like Zoom. Schools would determine what counts as "regular school day" hours for their own campuses, so the blocking times could vary by district.
