This bill directs the federal government to increase research and public education efforts focused on endometrial cancer, which is cancer of the uterus lining and the fourth most common cancer affecting women. The bill recognizes a serious health problem: while endometrial cancer rates are rising across all women in the U.S., African-American women are dying from it at significantly higher rates than white women, even though they're diagnosed less frequently. Researchers believe this disparity may be linked to delayed care, late-stage diagnoses, and socioeconomic barriers that prevent some women from accessing the best treatments.

The bill creates two main action items. First, it requires the National Institutes of Health to expand endometrial cancer research, make sure medical professionals and the public know about the racial disparities in this disease, and ensure African-American women are adequately represented in clinical trials. Second, it directs the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to create and share educational materials about endometrial cancer with the public, including information about risk factors, available treatments, and the increased risk for women of color. The materials will be specifically designed to reach African-American women. The bill allocates $1 million per year for three years to fund the research coordination efforts, with additional funding available for the public education campaign.
