The bill also requires that any program receiving these grants must help participants get to their training and work. This means programs need to either connect people with subsidized transportation options (like bus passes or ride-sharing discounts) or, if that's not available in their area, give participants money to cover transportation costs. This is important because people in rural areas often live far from training programs and jobs, and lack of transportation can prevent them from participating.

Finally, the law asks the government to report to Congress every year about how well these programs are working. They'll track how many organizations apply for grants, how many get approved, and whether the programs are actually helping rural areas fill their health care worker shortages. The changes take effect October 1, 2025.
