# Return Home to Housing Act

This bill increases the money the federal government pays to organizations that help homeless veterans get housing and services. Right now, these organizations receive a daily payment (called "per diem") for each veteran they assist, but the bill raises these payment rates to help these groups do more with their resources.

Specifically, the bill increases daily payments from $115 to $200 for certain types of housing assistance programs. For other veteran services, it raises the daily rate to $200 as well. The bill also clarifies that organizations can use these funds to respond to emergencies—like helping veterans during natural disasters or sudden housing crises—not just for regular, planned services. This gives nonprofits and government agencies more flexibility to quickly help veterans when urgent situations arise.
