If the veteran doesn't reschedule during that first call, the VA must call again at least one more time. This might sound simple, but it's a significant shift from the current system where cancelled appointments often just vanish from the system.

The bill applies to any veteran who is enrolled in the VA's patient system, which covers millions of veterans across the country. This is particularly important for mental health care, where consistency and follow-up are critical.
