This bill would allow members of Congress—both House representatives and Senators, including their leadership—to skip the standard security screening that regular passengers go through at airports. Normally, everyone traveling by air has to go through TSA (Transportation Security Administration) screening, where they remove shoes, go through metal detectors, and have their bags checked. Under this bill, members of Congress could bypass these checks when traveling between their home airport and any other location.

Essentially, the bill creates a special exemption for elected federal officials. Instead of waiting in security lines like everyone else, they would be allowed to proceed directly to their flights. The bill also removes a previous rule that had included Congress members in a broader security exemption, and replaces it with this new, more specific exemption just for them. This means Congress members would get faster airport access than ordinary citizens, even though the TSA screening process exists for everyone's safety.
