The bill sets aside $50 million per year for five years (2026-2030) for these grants, specifically for police departments in areas with documented gang, cartel, or transnational criminal activity. The Attorney General has to create rules within six months to manage how this works and must report back to Congress each year on how the money is being used and which departments received it.

Essentially, this gives law enforcement a dedicated funding stream and clearer authority to build specialized anti-organized crime units with modern equipment and training, targeting areas where cartels and gangs are most active.
