This bill asks the U.S. intelligence community to take a close look at how the Chinese Communist Party is trying to influence other countries around the world in ways that could hurt American interests. Specifically, the Director of National Intelligence needs to study what China has been doing outside the United States from January 2023 through the present, focusing on regions like Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and Europe. The assessment should examine how these influence activities are affecting U.S. alliances, how other countries view America, and whether China's actions are destabilizing financial systems or creating other security problems. The goal is to understand the full scope of China's influence campaigns so Congress and the intelligence community can better respond to them. The intelligence agencies will need to produce an initial report within 90 days and a final comprehensive report within 180 days, both of which will be shared with relevant congressional committees. While the reports will be available in unclassified form so the public can understand the findings, they can also include classified sections for sensitive information.

To direct the Director of National Intelligence to assess the national security implications of increased foreign malign influence by the Chinese Communist Party.
