People think they're taking a real Xanax or Adderall, but they're actually getting a lethal dose of fentanyl. This bill makes it a federal crime to manufacture, distribute, or possess these fake pills, closing a legal gap that currently exists. It also requires the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to create a comprehensive plan within six months to crack down on counterfeit pills through better law enforcement strategies, increased education campaigns (especially targeting young people), and improvements to existing awareness programs like the "One Pill Can Kill" campaign. The bill requires the Attorney General to report to Congress every year with detailed data on how many counterfeit pills are being seized, where they're coming from, what substances they contain, and how many people are being prosecuted and convicted for making or selling them. This gives lawmakers and the public a clear picture of whether the government's efforts are actually working to stop these deadly pills from reaching people.

To amend the Controlled Substances Act to prohibit certain acts related to fentanyl, analogues of fentanyl, and counterfeit substances, and for other purposes.
