# Animal Cruelty Enforcement Act of 2024

The bill establishes an "Animal Cruelty Crimes Section" inside the Department of Justice's Environment and Natural Resources Division to fix this problem by having lawyers and investigators who specialize in these cases.

The bill is based on the idea that animal cruelty is connected to other serious crimes. Congress found that people who abuse animals are often also involved in domestic violence, child abuse, drug trafficking, and gang activity.
