# Plain Language Summary: Accessibility Constituent Communication Act of 2024

This bill requires government agencies that handle benefits and assistance programs to provide all their official communications in formats that blind and visually impaired people can actually use. The bill also protects agencies from certain legal liability if they follow these requirements properly. Essentially, it's saying that if an agency makes a good faith effort to provide accessible communications, they can't be sued for violating accessibility laws specifically related to how they distributed that information to blind or visually impaired people. This applies to federal agencies and public entities that run major benefit programs, so it covers Social Security offices, state unemployment agencies, housing authorities, and similar organizations that millions of Americans rely on.
