After four years, Congress will receive a detailed report analyzing how this new approach affects Medicare patients. The report will look at whether patients do just as well staying home with paramedic treatment, how it impacts overall healthcare costs and efficiency, and whether it works equally well in different regions and for different types of patients. This information will help lawmakers decide whether to continue, expand, or modify the program beyond the initial five-year test period.
