Additionally, lobbyists now have 30 days instead of 45 days to register after they start lobbying, and they have to provide more detailed information about what specific government actions they're trying to influence, including executive branch rules and policies, not just proposed legislation.

Finally, the bill strengthens enforcement by giving the Attorney General more authority to pursue violations and requiring public reporting of enforcement actions by name, and it requires Congress to regularly review whether the technology used to collect and publish lobbying information is working well and could be improved. The goal throughout is to make lobbying activities more transparent and harder to hide behind shell companies, consultants, or vague disclosures.
