During these visits, doctors will identify seniors who report a penicillin allergy, discuss whether their reported reaction actually sounds like a real allergy, explain why having a false allergy label is harmful, and refer them to an allergy specialist if needed for proper testing. This isn't about forcing anyone to take penicillin—it's about getting accurate information so doctors can prescribe the most effective antibiotics when needed.
