The bill also addresses employee benefits by allowing tribal governments to offer retirement savings plans similar to what state employees get, and it makes sure tribal employees can access the same tax-advantaged savings options as other government workers. Additionally, it creates a new $175 million annual tax credit for investments in tribal economic development areas, helping direct capital to tribal businesses and communities. Throughout the bill, the government commits to consulting with tribal leaders when writing the detailed rules to carry out these changes, respecting tribal sovereignty and self-governance.
