They contend the Treasury should focus on protecting American workers and jobs, not bailing out foreign governments or their investors.

If passed, the bill would ban the Treasury from providing any direct or indirect financial support to Argentina through various methods—including currency swaps, buying Argentine currency or government bonds, or extending credit. Any financial deals already made before the law takes effect would have to be unwound within a week. The restriction would last until December 10, 2027, unless Congress extends it.
