Additionally, if someone is denied advance payment of their tax credit while their income is being verified, they get a special enrollment period to sign up for coverage once that verification is complete. The bill requires insurance companies to notify everyone enrolled about these changes and extended deadlines within 15 days, and includes penalties of $1,000 per person per day if companies fail to send these important notices. Overall, this legislation aims to make health insurance more affordable and accessible while reducing the risk of people losing coverage due to administrative issues.
