This bill strengthens existing sanctions against Iran by targeting anyone involved in helping Iran sell its oil, gas, and related energy products on the international market. The goal is to cut off Iran's access to money that could fund nuclear weapons development, terrorism, and regional aggression.

The law applies to foreign companies, banks, shipping firms, and pipeline operators that knowingly participate in buying, selling, or transporting Iranian oil and gas. It also targets corporate officers and family members of sanctioned individuals. When someone gets caught violating these sanctions, their assets in the U.S. get frozen, and foreign nationals involved can be banned from entering the country and have their visas revoked immediately.

The President can temporarily waive these sanctions for up to 180 days at a time if it's deemed vital to national security, but these waivers expire in 2029. The bill also creates a new government working group to coordinate with other countries on enforcing Iran sanctions and identifying new ways Iran tries to evade them. Essentially, this law cracks down on the financial networks that help Iran sell its energy products globally, with the aim of starving the Iranian government of the revenue it uses for activities the U.S. considers threatening.
