# Health Care Fairness for Military Families Act of 2025

This bill makes it easier and cheaper for young adult children of military service members to stay on their parents' health insurance through TRICARE, which is the military's health care system. Right now, young adults who want to keep their military health coverage have to pay a separate premium (an extra monthly fee) on top of what their parents pay, and they can only stay covered until age 26. This bill removes that extra premium charge and eliminates an age restriction that was preventing some young adults from qualifying for coverage in the first place.

The practical effect is that military families will save money. If you're the adult child of a service member and you're currently paying your own TRICARE premium, you won't have to anymore—you'll just be covered under your parent's plan at no additional cost to you. The bill essentially treats military families' adult children the same way civilian families are often treated under employer health plans, where young adults can stay on their parents' coverage without paying extra.

The military will simply adjust how TRICARE Young Adult coverage works by removing the separate billing for young adults and eliminating a previous eligibility restriction.
