This bill expands a Veterans Affairs program that helps veterans pay for medical school. Right now, the program supports 18 veterans total—two students at each of nine medical schools. The bill adds five more medical schools to the program, which means 10 additional veterans can get funding for their medical education. So instead of just 18 veterans getting help, the program will support 28 veterans going to medical school. This is part of a larger VA program called the MISSION Act that was created in 2018 to improve veterans' healthcare and support. By expanding this medical education program, the VA is helping more veterans become doctors, which could eventually benefit other veterans by increasing the number of physicians who have military experience and understand veterans' unique healthcare needs.

To amend the VA MISSION Act of 2018 to expand the Veterans Healing Veterans Medical Access and Scholarship Program to include more students and schools.
