This resolution directs the House Committee on Ethics to make public the records of its investigations into sexual harassment and misconduct by members of Congress. Specifically, it requires the Committee to preserve all documents and investigative materials related to violations of House rules against sexual harassment, unwelcome sexual advances, and sexual relationships between members and their employees. Within 60 days of this resolution being adopted, the Committee must release all final investigation reports (or the most recent draft reports if no final report exists), along with conclusions, recommendations, and supporting materials. The Committee will redact the names and personal information of victims, alleged victims, and witnesses to protect their privacy, but the substance of the investigations will become public record. This is essentially a transparency measure designed to ensure that investigations into sexual misconduct by House members are not kept secret from the public.
