# Understanding the Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day Resolution

This is a symbolic resolution that asks the federal government and all states to officially recognize and honor the Tuskegee Airmen on March 23rd each year. The Tuskegee Airmen were Black pilots, crew members, and support staff who served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, despite facing severe racial discrimination. Their efforts were so significant that President Truman eventually issued an executive order integrating the entire Armed Forces.
