The resolution also documents a February 2025 domestic violence incident where DC police investigated Mills for allegedly assaulting a 27-year-old woman, with police determining probable cause existed for arrest. A former romantic partner later reported Mills threatened to release intimate images of her in retaliation for ending their relationship, leading a Florida court to issue a protective order against him.

As a result of these findings, Mills is removed from the Armed Services and Foreign Affairs committees, meaning he can no longer participate in decisions about military spending or foreign policy.
