# IVF for Military Families Act

This bill makes it easier for active-duty military members and military families to access in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments by requiring the military health insurance system to cover these fertility procedures. Right now, military families often have to pay out of pocket for IVF or seek treatment outside the military system, which can cost tens of thousands of dollars. This bill would change that by ensuring that TRICARE—the health insurance program for military personnel and their families—covers IVF services the same way it covers other medical treatments.

The practical effect is straightforward: military families struggling with infertility would gain access to fertility treatments without facing the enormous financial burden that currently exists. This matters because military service often involves relocations, deployments, and other disruptions that can make it harder for service members to plan their families. By covering IVF, the military would be helping retain experienced personnel and supporting their quality of life, which are important goals for military readiness and recruitment.
