# COVID-19 Vaccination Non-Discrimination Act

This bill would prohibit discrimination based on COVID-19 vaccination status. In practical terms, it would make it illegal for employers, healthcare providers, schools, housing providers, and other organizations to treat people differently—either positively or negatively—because of whether they've been vaccinated against COVID-19. This means an employer couldn't fire someone for being unvaccinated, but it also means they couldn't give special benefits or preferential treatment to vaccinated employees. The same principle would apply across different sectors of society.

The bill essentially creates a protected category around vaccination status, similar to existing protections based on race, religion, or disability. If someone believes they've been discriminated against because of their vaccination status, they could file a complaint and potentially pursue legal action. The law would apply to federal contractors and recipients of federal funding, meaning organizations that do business with the government or receive taxpayer money would have to follow these rules.

This legislation would reverse or prevent vaccine requirements that some employers and institutions put in place during the pandemic. For example, hospitals, universities, and large companies that mandated vaccines as a condition of employment or attendance would no longer be able to enforce those requirements. However, the bill includes some exceptions—healthcare facilities could still maintain infection control measures, and the military and certain federal employees might have different rules. The practical effect would be giving individuals more choice about vaccination while limiting organizations' ability to set their own health and safety policies around COVID-19 vaccines.

COVID-19 Vaccination Non-Discrimination Act This bill prohibits making federal funds available to any facility that refuses to treat an individual based on the individual's COVID-19 vaccination status, including any funding under Medicare, Medicaid, or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
