The TICKET Act requires ticket sellers to be upfront and honest about the true cost of event tickets. Right now, when you see a ticket price advertised online or in stores, that's often just the base price—the actual amount you pay at checkout is usually much higher once service fees, processing fees, delivery charges, and other mandatory costs are added on. This bill stops that practice.

Starting 120 days after the law passes, any company selling tickets to concerts, sports games, theater shows, and similar live events must show you the complete final price whenever they advertise or display a ticket. They also have to break down exactly what you're paying for—showing the base ticket price separately from each fee. This applies whether you're buying directly from the original ticket seller or from a reseller (like StubHub or similar platforms). The only charges that don't have to be included upfront are optional add-ons you choose to buy, like special merchandise or parking.

If ticket sellers break these rules, the Federal Trade Commission can treat it as deceptive advertising and enforce penalties against them. The goal is simple: no more surprise fees at checkout. You'll know exactly what an event ticket costs before you commit to buying it, making it easier to compare prices and budget for events you want to attend.
