Companies that voluntarily share sensitive information about their supply chains with the government will have that information protected from public disclosure and won't be sued based on what they share. The bill encourages moving manufacturing of critical goods from countries that pose security risks back to the United States or allied nations, and supports creating good-paying manufacturing jobs, especially in rural and underserved communities. The program will run for seven years and produce regular reports to Congress on the state of America's critical supply chains and recommendations for strengthening them.
